Being confident doesn't necessarily mean you know everything but being self confident means that you know how to handle even the most difficult situations that you might face. Of course there is certain level of confidence and there is also a harmful confidence. When you want to prove your confidence to others, don't boast about it. You don't tell them you're confident. You show them that you are confident. One best ways to show them is when you are able to handle a difficult task. Again, show it with humility and do not boast.

Next is by reading others. When you say reading that means that you are able to understand these people. It is mostly in a psychological manner and it is very important. You can read people through their actions, gestures, eyes, and even the way they talk. This will help you adjust to their environment. Therefore, you must be sensitive enough to know whether they like you or not. If you feel that they don't, you must think immediately on how to change their perspective towards you.

Being influential is a process. Again, you must have the confidence and you must at least be a mind reader to know and understand the people around you.
